All that remains: RESIDUAL MOMENTS

2023, multidisciplinary installation

Director: Gunilla Josephson
Composer: Frank Horvat

Interviewees and Improvisors, Thin Edge New Music Collective (in order of appearance):
Terry Lim (flute), Aysel Taghi-Zada (violin), Amahl Arulanandam (cello), Sara Constant (flute), Dobrochna Zubek (cello), Michael Murphy (vibraphone), Nathan Petitpas (vibraphone), Ilana Waniuk (violin), Cheryl Duvall (piano)

In an amalgam/synthesis/fusion of live music, moving image, and personal revelations, the performance includes a 60-minute film triptych and five live musicians, giving image and voice to the hidden tableaux from our childhood that we magnify in our consciousness. Audiences can move freely through an open exhibition space amongst the projections and the musicians, in an intimate, shared encounter. As we see and hear other people recounting their memories, our own memories are evoked and we enter a setting that offers possibilities for release and liberation where we can understand some of our common human experiences.
